Why does the kybun shoe come in 1/3 and 2/3 sizes?
All odd sizes are integers (37, 39, 41 etc.). Beginning with the odd sizes, increments of 2/3 are added to get to the next size:
37 + 2/3 = 37 2/3
37 2/3 + 2/3 = 38 1/3
The reason for the 2/3 size interval is this: Research has shown that most people do not need a difference of an entire size, but a 2/3 difference. For instance, I normally wear size 39. A kybun shoe of this size is too loose, however. So I can wear size 38 1/3, which fits perfectly (size 38 would be too small).
Of course, there are customers who cannot find the perfect size even with the 2/3 intervals. The solution for these people is to take the next larger size and add a kybun filler sole to the shoe. This compensates for the extra space.
How do I determine the right kybun shoe size if I use insoles?
kybun recommends wearing the kybun shoes without medical insoles for short intervals of 20 to 45 minutes at the beginning, then gradually increasing wear duration over the course of three months. During the kybun shoe break, ‘normal’ shoes with medical insoles should be worn so as to passively allow the foot musculature to recover. Some users can dispense entirely with the medical insoles in time (three to twelve months), while others continue this alternation between kybun shoes and normal shoes with insoles indefinitely. Listen to your body because each body reacts differently. If you begin to experience pain, take a break from the kybun shoe until the pain goes away.
To help you choose the correct kybun shoe size, kybun recommends that you visit one of the many kybun dealers to try on the kybun shoe. The dealers have been trained by kybun and can advise customers about medical questions regarding the kybun shoes. It is especially important to do this if you have existing complaints so that you invest in the correct kybun shoe from the beginning and maximise the benefit. You can find a dealer near you on our website. You only need to enter your location.
How do I choose a kybun shoe that is suited to my foot?
The kybun shoe has been designed to fit as many feet as possible. Nevertheless, a given model may pinch the feet of one person and be too loose for another. That is why it is important to walk around a little in the kybun shoe at the store. The reason for the difference is the various shapes of the human foot.
- The kybun shoe salesperson at the store can advise you and find a suitable model for you. The kybun shoe varies as follows:
a) Closed or open models (with/without straps)
b) Full grain leather or mesh models
c) Low-cut or over-the-ankle kybun shoe (Sorak)
d) kybun shoe with large or small sole contact surface
- The kybun shoe is made by hand, which means that even the same model may have minor differences (thickness of leather, stitching ...).
- Those with narrow feet have the option of adding a kybun sole to the kybun shoe. This fills the extra space in the shoe so that you do not slide to the side in your kybun shoe.
- If you have problem feet, it makes sense to have a shoemaker alter the kybun shoe for you. kybun shoe models with a great deal of leather are easy for shoemakers to modify. They can add padding at pressure points.
I have narrow feet, and the kybun shoe is too broad for me. What can I do?
For this case, kybun offers you an extra filler sole for narrow feet. This sole optimally compensates for the spaces on the sides, so that your foot is comfortably supported in the kybun shoe. The breathability and softness of the kybun shoes remain unimpaired. For further questions, please contact us at: medizin-support(at)kybun.ch.
